Obituary of Ilene Lila Clarke
CLARKE, Ilene Lila – At Warkworth Community Nursing Home, Warkworth on Saturday, October 30, 2010 Ilene died at the age of 89. Wife of the late Tait (2008). Loving mum of David Clarke and his wife Jo-Anne, Edmonton, Louise Clarke and her husband Jim Blumer, Brantford and Susan Clarke and Tina Moorey of Hastings. Proud grandmother of Shannon Ilene Clarke, James and Emily Budd, David Blumer (Megan Page); and great-grandmother of Klara, Madeline and Elisabeth. She is also survived by her mother-in-law Valeria Clarke; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dorothy Hudak, Tom and Eloise, Betty Lou, Bruce and Sally, and Mary Jane Clarke; and the Passingham, Towns and Corbet families. Predeceased by her grandson David Allan William Clarke, parents William Charles and Mary Maude Gulley, and sisters, Frances (Russ) Passingham and Ida (Ken Corbet) (Tom Towns). Our family would like to thank the staff at Warkworth Community Nursing Home for their loving care of mum in her final days. Ilene worked and volunteered at the Sarnia General Hospital for 40 years and was proud to have received recognition for her dedication to the patients and their families. Ilene was a proud member of St. George's Anglican Church and the Sarnia Quilter's Guild. She was an avid reader, baker, quilter and gardener. She had many good friends throughout her life and will be sadly missed by all. A funeral service will be held at St. George's Anglican Church (248 Vidal St. N.) on Monday, November 8th at 11 a.m. with The Ven. James Dugan officiating. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
