Obituary of James Carlo Devereaux
DEVEREAUX, James, 68 of Corunna, at Bluewater Health on Thursday, October 20, 2011. Surrounded by his three sons, sister Carol and in spirit, by his mother, brother and sister, Jim left this earth peacefully to be reunited with his recently passed wife Patti. Jim leaves behind sons Paul of Toronto, Brian (Lynn), and Jeff (Jen) both of Corunna. Jim is loved, cherished, and will be forever missed by grandchildren Stephanie, Jamie, Katelyn and Lauren. He is also survived by his mother Lena, sisters Kathy (Andy), Carol, and brother Mike (Debbie). Predeceased by wife Patti, father Jack, in-laws William and Mary Gatehouse. Jim, retired from Imperial Oil, served with the Corunna Fire Dept. for many years, and along with his wife was an avid fan of the Sarnia Sting. Years ago he coached minor ball teams and later the Corunna Flames Women’s two pitch team. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for the support we have received throughout this very difficult year. A special thanks to Dr. Borek for his compassionate care and the many visits to the home of our parents. While we are saddened beyond belief and will miss our parents Jim and Patti, we are comforted by the fact that they are both at peace and together again for an eternity. Friends and family will be received at the MCKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N. Sarnia, on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church in Corunna on Tuesday, October 25 at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Church Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 N. Christina St., Sarnia, N7T 5W3 or Pathways Health Centre for Children, 1240 Murphy Rd., N7S 2Y6.
