Obituary of Slater Herbert "Bert" Bailey

BAILEY, Slater Herbert “Bert” – Suddenly in the arms of his loving wife Laurie (McDonald)(Leckie) at their summer cottage at Our Ponderosa on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at the age of 67. Beloved father of Earl Bailey, Scott (Liz) Bailey, Jim (Deb) Bailey, Julie (Dan) Siemens, Tammy (Chris) Moore and Tina Leckie. Bert will be sadly missed by his best furry girl Beauty. Beloved Papa of Jesse, Caleb, Koty, Kierstan, Jaycee, Bryna, Slater, Erin and Ian. Dear brother of Bud (Joan) Bailey, Jerry (Marg) Bailey and Inez (Fred) Dugas. Predeceased by parents Slater & Vanessa Bailey, brother Earl Bailey and infant daughter Heidi. Bert retired from Holmes Foundry after 32 years of service. He loved motorcycles, old cars, camping, his old guitar and especially golfing at the Ponderosa Golf Course.Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel on Saturday at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Angela MacDonald.
