Obituary of Erik Olsen

OLSEN, Erik – Surrounded by family on May 9, 2011 at Bluewater Health at the age of 82.  Beloved husband of Mona.  Loving father of Sharon Kloostra & her husband Mark of Chatham.  Proud grandfather of Kirsten and Erik.  Dear brother-in-law of Harold & Janet McKenna, Owen & Isabelle McKenna, and Alice Campbell all of Nova Scotia.  Survived by many nieces and nephews who were very special to him in Denmark and Nova Scotia.  Predeceased by parents Valdemar & Christina and brothers Arne and Poul Olsen all of Denmark.  Erik was a proud supporter of Local 663 Plumbers, Pipefitters and Welders.  He always looked forward to the Labour Day Parade with his “brothers” and “sister Sue”.  He never missed this occasion in fifty years of service.  Please remember his smile that he brought to everyone he met and he could always make you laugh.  He was a kind and happy guy. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  A Celebration of Erik’s life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Minister of Community of Christ Church, Barbara Morin.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Parkinson Society of Canada, 4500 Blakie Rd., Unit 117, London, ON, N6L 1G5 or the charity of your choice.Messages of condolence & memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com A tree will be planted in memory of Erik Olsen in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
