Obituary of Irene G. McEachen

McEACHEN, Irene G. – At Afton Park Place on Friday, December 10, 2010, Irene died at the age of 95.  Beloved wife of the late William A. McEachen (1993).  Loving mother of Allen and his wife Hazel McEachen, Joyce and her husband the late Bob Bisson (2009), Dean McEachen and his partner Karen Ryan, all of Sarnia, and the late Mary Lou (2000) and her husband Lorne Silver of the Oshawa area.  Proud Nanny of Mark, Mike and Karen, Diane, Gerry and Joanne, Derek, Jodi and Shelby, Laurie and the late Tim (2005); and Great-Nanny to Amanda, Candice, Danielle, Melissa, Courtney, Sean, Lauren and Erin, Sherri, Jennifer and Leanne, Kim, Carolyn, Jennifer, Megan, Ayrianna, Tatianna; Great-Great-Nanny to Lilly.  Dear sister of Doris and her husband the late Ralph Glenn.  Also survived by several nieces and nephews.  Predeceased by her parents Annie and Wallace Gilbert, daughters-in-law Jean McEachen and Anne Hewitt and siblings Winnifred Fuller, Gertrude Dove, Myrtle Orr, Russell, Grant, Lawrence, Joseph, and Ernest Gilbert, and Donna Aitken.  Irene retired from Prestolite after 25 years of service and was a member of Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart CWL. Irene was an avid card player and especially enjoyed Euchre.  Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Peter Keller at Sacred Heart Church on Wednesday, December 15th  at 11 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
