Obituary of Edward Connolly
CONNOLLY, Edward – At Bluewater Health, Mitton Site, Sarnia on Wednesday, August 5, 2009, Ed died suddenly of a heart attack at the vibrant age of 87. Beloved companion of Muriel Thisdelle and husband of the late Patricia Connolly and the late Barbara Adams. Loving father of Maureen Connolly, London and Thomas and his wife Susan Connolly, Kitchener. Proud grandfather of Erin and her husband Tom Rothfischer, Kate and Shannon Connolly; and great-grandfather of Lauren, twins Paul and Julia Rothfischer and Jacob Connolly. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Betsy and Edward, sons Edward and David and brothers and sisters Alice Butterfield, Dorothy (John) Pirrie, Bessie (Jim) Bond, Jessie (George) Britton, Ernest (Anne) Timperley, Jack (Betty) Timperley, and Desmond (Thelma) Timperley. Ed was born in Liverpool, England and immigrated as a homesteader to Byemoor, Alberta. Ed served for the Essex Kent Regiment in England during WWII. He settled in Sarnia and worked at Cabot Carbon for 30 years as a shift supervisor and retired as a safety engineer. Ed had a passion for music and played the guitar like no one else. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Tom Lever at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, August 8th at 11 a.m. Interment at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. A tree will be planted in memory of Edward Connolly in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 20th, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
