Obituary of Thelma Maheu
MAHEU, Thelma J. (nee LaTour) - Born on October 7, 1931 to Ernest and Margaret LaTour. Died peacefully on January 27, 2007 at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care at the age of 75. Beloved wife for 53 years of Michael G. Maheu. Loving mother of Ann (Mike) Sleaford, Mike (Julie) Maheu, and Pat (Kim) Maheu. Proud grandmother of Kevin (Lorilee) Fex, Laura (Bob) Saunders, Chris Fex, Samantha Sleaford, Michael and Jeremy Maheu, Amanda and Jenna Dowswell, Ryan, Brent, and Sarah Maheu; great-grandmother of Zachary and Zoe Fex, Skylar and Jayla Saunders. Survived by brothers Roy (Ann) LaTour, Jack (Ruth) LaTour; sisters Helen Blackmore, Sr. Mary Julia "Hilda"� Latour, and Margaret (Ron) Lane. Predeceased by brothers Ernie and Earl (Pauline) LaTour. Sister-in-law of Verna LaTour; Carl (Donna) Maheu, Wilfred (Sally) Maheu, Isobel (Brad) Kelch, Pete (Margaret) Maheu, Joe (Randi) Maheu, Mary Jane (Jim) Sekerak and Jack and the late Virginia Lyon. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Kevin and Richard Maheu and Fred Blackmore. Sadly missed by many nieces and nephews. Thelma was a member of the CWL for over 40 years. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Rick Janisse at St. Benedict's Church on Wednesday, January 31 at 9:30 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
