Obituary of Leona Mary Savage
SAVAGE - LEONA MARY passed away peacefully at Bluewater Health - Palliative Care, during the early morning hours of Wednesday, February 14, 2007. Born Leona Mary Huxtable on April 13, 1920 in Harbor Beach, Michigan, she was the daughter of Arma & Charles Huxtable and sister of Aileen Martin. A resident of Port Huron and Sarnia, Leona was the loving wife of the late Reg Savage. Leona is survived by her niece Diane Frank, her nephew Chuck Martin & his wife Judy, her nephew Alfred Savage & his wife Georgia, her nephew Bruce Savage & his wife Elizabeth, and her "adopted"� nieces Leslie McConnville & her husband Hugh and Jane Eyre & her husband Jim. She is also survived by many adored grand, great and great-great nieces and nephews and all her treasured friends. Leona had many others who called her aunt. Her friends are to be found in all parts of North America as well as Scotland. She will indeed be missed by them all. The family would like to thank all those who have been so thoughtful. The cards, flowers and phone calls have been greatly appreciated. The professional care given has been wonderful also. Thank-you all. At Leona's request cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11 a.m. and will be officiated by Rev. Gary Carruthers of Central United Church. Interment to follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
