Obituary of Remedios Alcantara

ALCANTARA, MEDDIE - At Sarnia General Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2007, REMEDIOS "MEDDIE" TORRES ALCANTARA, age 62, of Sarnia. Beloved wife of Carlos Alcantara for 37 years. Loving mother of Carlo Alcantara of Windsor and Carmina and her husband Richard Murray of Texas. Sister of Jojo and his wife Eving of the Philippines; Raphael and his wife Fely of Illinois; Dorie of the Philippines; Bonnie and his wife Betty, Felix and his wife Eva, Hermie and her husband Rossini of Illinois; Josie and her husband Sergio of West Virginia and Alyn and her husband Rey of Arizona. Sister-in-law of Reynaldo (deceased) and his wife Milagros of the Philippines; Gloria and her husband Irshad of Saskatchewan; Armando and his wife Vergie of the Philippines; Consuelo of Saskatchewan and Norma and her husband Florentino of the Philippines. Survived and adored by many nieces and nephews. Meddie was a cherished member of Sarnia's Filipino Community and an enthusiastic member of St. Benedict's CWL. She will be missed dearly by her mall walking group. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Rick Janisse at St. Benedict's Church on Saturday at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. A tree has been planted in memory of Meddie Alcantara in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest.
