Obituary of John Sawczuk

SAWCZUK, Jan "John" - Surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health - Mitton Site on Thursday, August 9, 2007, JAN died peacefully at the age 85. Beloved husband of the late Alexandra (1996). Loving father of Joseph & his wife Valerie, Sarnia. Dear grandfather of Carrie, John, Paul, Danica, Joey, Jocelyn, Rachael, Gillian, Meagan, Alexandra and Michael; and great-grandfather of Elaine, Aysia, Aaron, Alexis, John and Xavier. Predeceased by his parents Joseph & Katerina Sawczuk and his brother Boleslaw. Jan was an active member of Our Lady Queen of Peace Church and the Polish Alliance of Canada. He was devoted to his family and will be greatly missed by his son, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his many friends. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 pm. where prayers will be offered at 7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Stan Soltysik at Queen of Peace Church (Rosedale at Ellwood) on Monday, August 13th at 10 a.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
