Obituary of Susan Mae Smit

SMIT, SUSAN MAE – Surrounded by family at Bluewater Health on December 18, 2013, Susan Smit (nee Dunn) died at the age of 72. Beloved wife of the late Peter Smit (2005). Loving mother of Mike Smit, Roelf Smit, Bright's Grove and Peter Smit, Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Kevin Parker, Adam Parker & his wife Tara, Sean Parker & his fiancé Kaitlynd, Ashley Smit and Riley Smit. Great grandmother of Kaleb Parker. Also survived by her best friend Marianne Lougheed. Predeceased by her parents John & Christine Dunn, brothers George & Robert Dunn and sister Margaret Paquette. Susan's passion was her family and she was their rock. Despite ill health, she was a fighter; staying strong for those around her. She spent many years as a housekeeper and caregiver. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday, December 23rd 12 – 2 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel with the Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating.
