Obituary of Gerry Alan Bruner
BRUNER, Gerry Alan – Peacefully surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Monday, August 19, 2013 at the age of 66. Gerry was a devoted husband for 45 years to the love of his life Eleanor Marie Bruner (Huber). Gerry was a loving father to his three children Brenda (Jim Bunda) Bruner, Michael (Crystal Croteau) Bruner and Jim (Jenn Johnson) Bruner. Gerry was a proud papa to his grandchildren Nick, Ashley, Christina, Amber, Tyler, Tabitha, Kalib, Brittany, Jordynn, Natasha, Lindsay, Kyle, Alexis, Ryan and Maddison. Great-grandfather to Hunter and a soon to be born newest addition. Brother of Lynn (Carl) Maron and Joanne (Bryan) Keegan. Brother-in-law of Carol MacKenzie, Ruth Cook and Ken Huber. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews that he loved dearly. Predeceased by his parents Boyd & Mickey Bruner, sister-in-law Gloria Dupuis and brother-in-law Vernon Huber. Gerry grew up in Windsor and went to W.D. Lowtech High School. He married his soulmate Eleanor and moved their family to Sarnia in 1976. He loved movies and music but most of all he loved spending time with his family. Gerry's family would like to thank the Doctors and staff of L.H.S.C. University Campus and Bluewater Health Palliative Care for their compassion and care throughout his journey. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday, August 22, 2013 from 12:00 - 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will be held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel immediately following visiting at 2 p.m. Cremation to follow.
