Obituary of Jessie Chumko Mazurkewycz

MAZURKEWYCZ – JESSIE "JOSSIE" CHUMKO – At the age of 93, Jessie "Jossie" Chumko Mazurkewycz died peacefuly in the Lord at Marshall Gowland Manor, Sarnia on Wednesday, August 14, 2013.  Beloved wife of the late Walter (1985). Dear sister of Sophie Chumko, Sarnia and Emily Lambert, Troy Michigan. Sister-in-law of Helen Chumko, Waterloo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Mary & John Chumko, sister Katherine Romanchok and brothers Nicholas, Michael and John Chumko. Jessie was a long time parishioner of Our Lady of Mercy Church and a member of the Catholic Women's League. Jessie was a very devoted sister and she loved to sing in the Ukrainian choir. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Tuesday, August 20th, 6-8:30 p.m. Panakhyda will be offered at 7:45 p.m. by Fr. Yarema. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday at 10 a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
