Obituary of Charles Henry Donovan
DONOVAN, Charles Henry– At Bluewater Health on Wednesday, July 17, 2013, Charles Donovan died at the age of 88. Loving father of Mark Donovan and Marilyn Taylor & her husband Tim, Sarnia. Cherished grandfather of Mandy Bartley & her husband John and Heidi Bois & her husband Brian, Sarnia. Proud great-grandfather of Dylan Taylor, Maddison, Maddox and Boston Bois. Also survived by his former wife but cherished friend Renée. Predeceased by his parents. Charles was a WWII Veteran. At the age of 18 he enlisted in the Royal Navy serving on destroyers travelling to Africa and then to Belgium. After the war Charles started his career in construction. Moving to Canada in 1957 with his family, Charles worked as a Crane operator with the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 793 for over 30 years. He loved to play golf and watch wrestling. Charles will be missed but lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Cremation has taken place. Private funeral arrangements are entrusted to McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
