Obituary of Douglas Ross Elrick

ELRICK, Douglas Ross – After a courageous battle with cancer Douglas "Doug" Elrick died Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Bluewater Health at the age of 72. Beloved Husband of Elsie. Loving Father and Step-Father of Tammy McKay, London, Scott Elrick, Windsor, Brian Tetreault & his wife Melanie and Mike Marshall & his wife Jeanette, of Sarnia. Cherished Grandfather of Misty, Kyle, Jessica, Travis, Syndal, Kayla, Jim, Mat and Joe. Brother of Dorothy Bailey, Sarnia and Della Cox- Pt. Edward. Brother-in-law of John Storozuk & his wife Pam, Sarnia and Joyce Godwin & husband Mike, B.C. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents George & Roberta Elrick, brothers Charles & Robert and sisters June Townsend, Phyliss Goulard and Doreen Fletcher. Doug was born in Sarnia and was a retiree of Dow Chemical after 24 years of service. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Sarnia. Doug had a passion for horses and enjoyed horseback riding. He loved to be outside at his trailer at the Warwick Conservation Area. Doug will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Cremation has taken place and a private interment at Resurrection Cemetery has been held. A Celebration of Doug's life will be held 12 – 3 p.m. Friday, July 5, 2013 at the Moose Lodge, 874 Phillip St. E., Sarnia. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131.
