Obituary of Anna Elizabeth van Hoorn
van HOORN, Anna Elizabeth Cornelia – It is with sad hearts that we say goodbye to Anna van Hoorn. Anna died at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care on Thursday, June 20, 2013, surrounded by her family at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late Nicolaas van Hoorn (1992). Loving mother of Helena Nethery & her husband Michael, Paris. Robert van Hoorn & his wife Kelli, Bright's Grove. Debra Bezanson & Fred Fletcher, Corunna. Jacqueline van Hoorn & Paul Diogo, Toronto. Proud Oma of Tineke & Jason, Heather, Shannon, Jason & Natalie, Tiffany & Mark, Devin, Alexa, David & Jessica, Connor and Jared. Cherished great-Oma of Kolton, Kyle, Logan, Brett, Paige, Sydney, Ella, Kayla and their soon to arrive sister or brother. Not to be forgotten is special daughter Rose van Balen. Predeceased by brother John & Bep Heemskerk, sisters Riek & Herman Beek, Helena & Ru Schmit. Also survived by Han & Jan Heemskerk, Henk, Herman, Kees & Leni Beek, Rudi & Riesje Schmidt and Tineke Prinsen and their spouses. Anna was a vibrant, compassionate, intelligent and outgoing woman who always put family first. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her. The family wishes to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses of the palliative care unit for their warmth and compassion. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Saturday, June 22, 1-4 p.m. A celebration of life will held in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel following visitation at 4 p.m. with Rev. Paul Woolley officiating. Cremation to follow. A private interment will take place at Lakeview Cemetery at a later date.
