Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Donohue
DONOHUE, Mary Elizabeth,– Surrounded by her family at Port Huron Hospital, Port Huron, MI, on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 Mary Elizabeth Donohue died at the age of 80 . Sister to Leo Donohue, London. Loving aunt to Marianne Ganter (Ralph), Sarnia, Dianne Burns (Peter), Oakville, Michael Rupar (Jane), Oakville, Christopher Rupar (Theresa), Ottawa, Ryan Donohue (Stacey), B.C.,Trisha Donohue (Rob) B.C., Cynthia Donohue, USA and Terrence Donohue (Meredith). Also survived by many great-nieces and nephews. Cherished long time friend to Dorothy, Wendy, Margot, Virginia, Anne and Mary. Predeceased by her parents Martin & Teresa Donohue, sister Barbara Rupar and brother Raymond Donohue. Mary grew up in Sarnia and worked for several years with Imperial Oil before moving to Michigan. It was there she established her very successful career as a travel agent. Travelling became a way of life for Mary, working as an agent for American Express for 25 years. She especially loved to visit Ireland, as she was so proud of her Irish heritage. Mary also enjoyed playing golf and collecting antiques while on her travels. Known for her sense of fun and adventure, she brought smiles and laughter to all who knew and loved her. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered. Friends will be received at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Saturday, May 18, 2013 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Memorial Mass will be celebrated by Fr. Raju Allumpurath at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church at 1 p.m. on Saturday following visitation. Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
