Obituary of Eric Joseph Theisen
THEISEN, Eric Josef – It is with great sadness the Theisen and McLean families say goodbye to Eric. Born on June 9, 1940 in Duisburg, Germany and died on October 2, 2012 in Sarnia, Ontario, Eric leaves behind his beloved wife Carla McLean-Theisen. Eric was a loving father to Duane (Marcy), Cameron (Loretta), and Glenn (Ann), Kurt (Sharon), Dianne (Steve) Dolha. Awesome step-father to Brenda (John) Mayer, Brian (Deani), Ron (Tracy), and Brad (Tammy) McLean. Proud grandfather of Mathew, Megan, Tommy, Robert, Steve, Erica, Julie, Eric and Sam and many McLean grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Helmut (Angela), Werner (Monika), Liesel (Peter), Christal and Elke; and brother-in-law of Ingrid. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his brothers Gunther and Kurt. After immigrating to Canada in 1960, Eric’s career took him from coast to coast as a chemical engineer and finally here in Sarnia inspecting for the Ministry of Labor. Eric loved life and his many passions included electronics and building computers, cooking, his ‘famous’ cheesecake, gardening, photography, stained glass and reading. We will miss this unique, one of a kind man. Our family would like to express special thanks to the 4th Floor Medicine Unit for their exceptional care. Cremation has taken place and a remembrance service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery (please enter at the main gates on Colborne Rd.) on Saturday, October 13th at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Deanna Gibson officiating. A luncheon will follow at the Point Edward Servicemans Club. Arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to Bluewater Health, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, ON N7T 6S3. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
A tree will be planted in memory of Eric Theisen in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 15th, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area
