Obituary of Antonia Petrucci
PETRUCCI, Antonia – At Bluewater Health on Monday, April 30, 2012 Antonia died in her 96th year. Beloved wife of the late Saverio. Dear mother of Vince Petrucci & wife Claudia, Sarnia and Delia De Santis & husband Ercole (Ed) in Brights Grove. Proud Nonna of Adriana Vani & husband John, Dino Petrucci & wife Lisa, Lisa De Sena & husband Francis, Aldo De Santis & wife Jennie and Ezio De Santis & wife Brooke . Great-Nonna of Maria, Christina & Bennett Vani, Julia, Anthony & Michael Petrucci, Joseph, Eric & Lauren De Sena, Nicholas & Carter De Santis all of Sarnia. Also survived by many wonderful nieces and nephews in Sarnia, Windsor, Toronto, Italy, France & Venezuela. Predeceased by parents Pasquale & Francesca Torti, brothers Sabato, Luigi, Federico, Domenico, Alberto, Elauterio and sister Ersilia. Antonia came to Canada in 1956 with her two children to join her husband and make a life in Sarnia. She retired 30 years ago after working 25 years at the Sarnia General Hospital. Antonia was a long time member of the former St. Peter's Roman Catholic Church and recently Sacred Heart Church. She always had a positive outlook on life, with a great devotion to St. Anthony. Loving to cook she always made special dinners for all the family to enjoy. Antonia had a passion for working in her garden and enjoyed playing card games (scope) with her grandchildren and great grandchildren although there was always an expectation that she should be the winner. Crocheting was a talent that she passed on to her children and grandchildren. Antonia has left a true legacy of love and family and will be missed by all who knew her. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Antony Kolenchery at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, May 4, 2012 at 11 a.m. Entombment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Mausoleum. A tree will be planted in memory of Antonia Petrucci in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 16th, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.
