Obituary of Elizabeth (Anne) Evans
EVANS, Elizabeth (Anne), RN, BScN, MSA – Peacefully with gentleness and dignity at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Friday, April 13, 2012. Dearly loved wife of Ted. Devoted and adored mother of Melissa Georgiou, Sarnia, Aaron Farr (Kirstin), New Zealand, Adam Farr (Jamiee), Sarnia; and stepmother of Heather Evans (Derek Ferris), Jonathan Evans, Toronto and Andrew Evans. Beloved grandmother of Keaton and Cameron Georgiou, Morgan, Marcus and Samuel Farr, Maija Farr, Ellen, David and Ted Ferris. Anne also leaves behind her dear sister Sue Martin (Mitch) and brothers Tim, John and David Berry, as well as being a giving and supportive aunt to her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by much loved parents Tom and Elizabeth Berry. Anne was Chair and long term member of the Lambton District Health Council and Chair of the Community Girls Home Board. She was involved with the Sarnia Rotary Club, Interdenominational Cursillo, Beginning Experience, Registered Nurses of Ontario, Gerontological Nursing Association Ontario, Sarnia Quilting Guild and volunteered at St. Joseph’s Hospice. Anne was extremely proud to be a nurse and grateful for the opportunities she was afforded. Anne started her career at St. Joseph’s Children’s Ward, moved to VON and later became the Director of the Psychogeriatric Department at Sarnia General followed by Director of Placement at Home Care. From there she became a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Psychogeriatrics at St. Joseph’s Health Care in London. Anne’s greatest joy was being with her family and friends and time spent at Cameron Lake, ON. Never one to sit still, she spent every minute she could with her grandchildren, quilting with her friends and taking care of others. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Monday, April 16 from 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Anne’s Life will be held at Central United Church on Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev.
