Obituary of Harriet Jean Nutter
NUTTER (REID), Harriet – Peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late James S. Reid (1971) and Hartley Nutter (1999). Dear mother of Stephen (Margaret) Reid, Thornhill and the late Margaret Beveridge (2005). Mother-in-law of John Beveridge, Sarnia. Harriet was lovingly cared for by granddaughter Nicole (Pete) Beveridge-Pavao, Courtright. Sister of Mary Agnes Smith, Arizona. Predeceased by infant son John William Reid (1949) and brother Robert (Joyce) Fead. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Harriet was a past president of the Norman Rogers Chapter of the I.O.D.E., past president of the Sacred Heart C.W.L. and was on the Board of Directors of the London Diocese C.W.L, serving the C.W.L. for 60 years. She was a member of the Sarnia Yacht Club. Harriet travelled the world and was an avid skier until the age of 80. Harriet’s family would like to thank the staff of Afton Park Place and her caregivers Barb Scott and Kathy MacLean for their loving and caring support. Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Peter Keller or Fr. Antony Kolenchery on Monday, December 12, 2011 at Sacred Heart Church (Charlesworth at Lecaron Ave., Sarnia) at 11 am. Interment at Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron at 2:30 p.m. Monday.
