Obituary of Richard Thomson
THOMSON, Richard Alan – Went to join his loving mother Yolanda, father Archie and brothers Archie Jr. & John. He passed away peacefully in Sarnia after a long courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56. Loving friend, lover and husband of Luann. Dear brother of Craig (Deb), Lynda (Ang), Bernie (Craig), Dave (Stacy), Ken (Penny), Shareene and Mike. Brother-in-law of Eleanor Thomson, Janice Mundy and Terry O’Hagan. Richard left loving thoughts in the hearts of his grandchildren Meghan, Madison, Andrew, Austin and Logan McAlpine. Sadly missed by his stepchildren Jeff (Heather), Jason (Melissa) and Joe (Kim) McAlpine. Richard always loved and never forgot his son Max Thomson. Richard was very proud being a social worker for boys, English teacher in Korea and many more accomplishments. Most of all, the previous proud owner of Sarnia Ink Spot. Richard will be missed by many friends from his football and baseball days. Isn’t that right Jimmy Hall & Joe Clifford, who were his best friends through thick and thin. Cremation has taken place and a family service will take place at a later date in Hamilton where he grew up. Many thanks to Tara, his nurse for so long from V.H.A. who’s care goes beyond and beyond. Also Kelly (Night Nurse) from V.O.N., “you’ve found your calling”. Thanks to Dr. M. Dostaler for the exceptional care you gave. “You truly are an angel”. Private arrangements are entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Cancer Clinic at Bluewater Health, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3, Palliative Care, 89 Norman St., Sarnia, N7T 6S3 or the Huron House Boys Home, P.O.Box 26, Bright’s Grove, N0N 1C0.
