Obituary of Elizabeth Luther

LUTHER (MacDougall) Elizabeth– After a brief but mighty struggle with breast cancer at Bluewater Health on Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at the age of 69. Beloved wife of the late Norman Luther (2002). Dear mother of Sherry Luther-Heath, Greg (wife Tammy) and Cathy Hoekstra (husband Albert). Loving grandmother of Khrystopher, Kirsten, Kathryn, and Kevyn Luther-Heath, Danielle, Jayne, Samantha and Caleb Luther, Tiffany, Michelle and Raquel, Lisa (Josh), Katie and Marcella Hoekstra. Great-grandmother of Madison and Leeland. Dear sister of Mary Santavy, Lauchie MacDougall, Steve (Cindy) MacDougall, Anne (Bill) Buckley and Michael (Patti) MacDougall. Sister-in-law of Vic Pellegrini, Peter Tollefsen and Lynne MacDougall. Also surviving are several nieces & nephews.  Predeceased by parents James and Jessie MacDougall, sisters Marcella Pellegrini and Jayne Tollefsen, brothers Glen and Paul MacDougall, brother-in-law Jerry Santavy and nephew Alan MacDougall. Liz retired from A&P as head cashier in 1999 after 40 years of service. Visitation at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Ross Bartley at St. Joseph’s Church on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 10 a.m.  Interment Lakeview Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Breast Cancer Society, 420 East St. N., Sarnia, N7T 6Y5 or the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia,  N7T 4Y1.
