SMITH, Ray Calvin – Suddenly at his residence on Wednesday, September 24, 2014, Ray passed away at the age of 81. Beloved husband and best friend of Patricia for 62 years. Dear father of Becky (Rob) Williamson, London, Jeffrey (Kendra) Smith, Bridgman, MI., James (Jill) Smith, Sarnia and Susan Smith, Sarnia. Loving grandpa to Cody, Kylie and Zachary Williamson, Sam Smith and Tyler Tobin, Katie Peters (Dan), Natalie Peters and Ally VanHooste. Great-grandpa to Ayden Peters. Brother of Stan (late Getty) Smith, Exeter, Ralph (Donna) Smith, London, Marie (late Glen) Perry, St. Thomas. Brother-in-law of Dorothy (late Lloyd) Smith, London. Predeceased by sons Michael and Stephen, parents John Robert & Lily-Anne Smith, brothers John (Hilda) Smith, Gord (Elsie) Smith, Phillip Smith and sister Stella (Ken) Perry. He was also predeceased by his furry best buddy Benji. Ray's greatest love was his family. He worked for the City of Sarnia Public Works Department for over 2 decades. In 1974 Ray began his own trucking business "Ray Smith & Sons Trucking". He loved his truck and reluctantly shifted gears into retirement in 2010. In his leisure time, he enjoyed working in the yard and playing solitaire. A family graveside service will be held at Lakeview Cemetery.
