Obituary of Agnes Eliza Cannon
CANNON, Agnes (McInnis) – Surrounded by family at Marshall Gowland Manor on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the age of 98. Beloved wife of the late James(Oct.2008). Loving mother of Audrey (Greg) Atkinson, Sarnia and Jim (Linda) Cannon, Ingersoll, ON. Proud grandmother of Derrick Cannon, Jeff Stoudt, Sarnia and Tom (Michelle) Cannon, Stratford and great-grandmother of Avery, Austin, Sarah, Jimmy and Sarah. Dear sister of Charlie (Denise) McInnis, London. Dear sister-in-law of Gertrude Watson, Sarnia and Joseph (Charlotte) Cannon, Florida. Predeceased by granddaughter Joan Stoudt (1978), parents John and Jenny McInnis, sisters Ethel Hays, Mary Dayman, Helen Parker and Jenny McInnis, brothers-in-law Louis (Jennie) Cannon, Stratton (Kay) Cannon, John Cannon (Phyllis), John Watson and Andy Cannon, sisters-in-law Rita (Ned) McDonald and Rita Cannon. Agnes was born in Halifax N.S. and survived the Halifax explosion in 1917; she was raised in Prince Edward Island and moved to Sarnia in 1950. Agnes was a resident at Marshall Gowland Manor. She was a life member of St. Benedict's CWL, was a die hard Maple Leafs, Blue Jays and Sarnia Sting fan, and she enjoyed playing BINGO and was an avid card player with many senior groups. Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431. N. Christina St., Sarnia on Thursday, February 12th from 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 8:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jim Higgins at St. Benedict's Church on Friday, February 13th at 10a.m. Interment Our Lady of Mercy will be held at a later date.
