It is with the deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Helen Robertson-Korf on Sunday, March 8, 2015, at the age of 95. Beloved wife of 44 years of the late Donald John Robertson. Helen was also predeceased by her second husband, Philip Korf of Chesaning, Michigan. Loving mother of J. Craig Robertson (Laurine), Neil Robertson (Helen), Norma Haraldsson (Orn), Corinne Robertson-Brown(William) and Denise Robertson. Cherished grandmother of Brian, Nancy and Ian Robertson (Jocelyn), Heidi Whelan (Tom), Heather Haraldsson-Glennie (Dave), Caitlin Thompson, Garrison Brown, Warren Ip, Morgan Ip, & Christian Tang. Dear great-grandmother of twins Katie & Duncan Robertson, Gretel Glennie and Greysen Whelan. Originally from Port Arthur (Thunder Bay), Helen and Don raised their five children in Sarnia. During WWII, Helen volunteered by wrapping and packaging bandages to help with the war effort while Don was overseas. They also spent two years in Jamaica, West Indies, during which time they were cast as extras in the 1963 movie "The Confession" starring Barbara Eden and Ginger Rogers. In Sarnia, Helen was a long-time member of Central United Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, a member of Beta Sigma Phi and she also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and other charitable causes. Helen was lovingly cared for by Craig and Laurie Robertson during her last years. She died peacefully in her home at Marshall Gowland Manor. The family would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to all the staff who made her life at the home one of peace and contentment. Visitation will be held 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia. A celebration of Helen's life will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Chapel on Thursday, March 12th at 10:30 a.m. officiated by Alan McKeown. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
