Obituary of Ross Robert Palmer

PALMER, Ross Robert - With loved ones by his side, Ross Palmer died peacefully at Fiddick's Nursing Home on Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of Mary Jo and the late Anna Palmer. Loving father of Margaret Palmer Davidson & her husband Tom, Robert Palmer & his wife Giselle, and stepson Hisham Al-Gharabally & his wife Christine. Cherished grandfather of Anna Davidson & her partner Duncan, Emily Davidson, Jack & Henry Palmer and Gabe & Ben Al-Gharabally. Special great-grandfather of Rosalind & Thando. Dear brother of Paul Palmer (Jane) and Joan Tedball, Sarnia. Brother-in-law of Ruth Posey (John), Donna Stuewer (Fred), Jim Shafran (Sandy) and Sharon Conard (Joe). Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Eva and Wilberton Palmer and his in-laws Edmund & Adella Shafran. His sister Faye & her husband Al Powell and brothers-in-law Al Tedball and Art Shafran. Ross was a Veteran with the Canadian Armed Services. After serving Ross was a Supervisor of Equipment Operations and Leasing for Imperial Oil until his retirement in 1982. He loved to golf and curl and was a long time member of the Sarnia Golf & Curling Club. As a member of Central United Church, Ross was one of the founders of the Central Century Club. Ross was passionate about his family, and spending time with his loved ones brought him great pleasure. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life will be held at the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia, on Monday, October 30, 2017 at 11:30 a.m. with friends being received prior to the service from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Lakeview Cemetery.
