Obituary of Samouel "Sam" Karayacoubian

KARAYACOUBIAN, Samouel “Sam” – Surrounded by his family at Bluewater Health, Sam Karayacoubian died on April 24, 2018 at the age of 78.  Beloved husband of Betty.  Loving father of Paul & his wife Jennie, Chris, Mark and Nicole.  Cherished grandfather “Baboug” of Charlotte & Nicholas. Dear brother of Rose, Mary, Paul and Rita. Also survived by several brothers & sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews in Canada, England and Holland.  Predeceased by his parents Yervant & Gulanna and stillborn daughter.  Sam was a French teacher at St. Patrick’s & St. Christopher’s Catholic High Schools.  He spent many years as their soccer coach and also participated in the French and Chess Clubs.  Sam loved to walk, read, feed the squirrels and was always up for a game of backgammon.  Just recently Sam & Betty traveled to Syria, his place of birth and various other countries in Europe.  Friends and family will be received at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St. Sarnia on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 5 – 8 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Saturday, April 28^th at 2:00 p.m. Cremation to follow.
