Dear Mary and family, My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time as we all grieve Ernie’s loss, always “Mr. Mitro” to me of course. He earned the respect of so many as a principled and hard working family man, I consider myself very fortunate to have known him. I know I learned more than a few tricks from him. I’ll never forget his tennis ball cannon contraption! But I’m really indebted to Ernie for inspiring what has become a lifelong hobby of mine, playing guitar. As a teenager, seeing him pick it up and learn it in his 50’s convinced me I could do it. He even lent me his starting songbook. Thank you Mr. Mitro! All my love, Pete
