Mary belonged to our St. Joseph’s Associate group, the Ribbons of Light. We feel profoundly the loss of Mary in our group. She inspired us with her commitment to her prayer life, her love and dedication to her family, her hospitality and welcoming heart. Her symbol of the butterfly had great appeal and meaning for her, so much so that we will never look at a butterfly the same way again. We love you Mary . Fly forth with love in your wings!

Mary was a beautiful lady. She had strong values. She loved her family and spoke of her family with great pride. When she was the school secretary, the students were her family. When she helped out at Sacred Heart Church, she shared this same love and devotion with those she met. We will miss Mary but know she is now at peace.

I had the pleasure of working with Mary at Sacred Heart School in the late '80s, early '90s. I admired her for her unflappable demeanour and happy outlook on life. I particularly loved her sensitivity to the students' needs. Her famous booboo bunny was just one of her tricks to help students with imagined/real injuries. RIP, Mary, you've earned it.

Our sincere condolences. For almost 35 years we shared
property lines, but more than that a sense of family as we often heard the sounds of fun and joy in your Mom and Dad’s backyard. Rest in Peace Mary.

To the Parkes Family: I have had the pleasure to have known Mary for many years and I was always so impressed by her faith and positive attitude even though she has gone through many difficulties during her lifetime. I know her faith carried her through. I’m sure she is flying with the butterflies she so loved and reunited with the love of her life. Mary will be missed. Such a lovely and dignified woman. Rest in the peace you so deserve, Mary.
