Obituary of Kathryn Anne D'Andrea

D’ANDREA (SCHALTE), Kathryn Anne – Kathryn found peace at Bluewater Health on October 8, 2022 at the age of 77. Beloved wife of the late Alberto D’Andrea (1994). Dear mother of Gina D’Andrea (Mike Hines) and Rico (Susan) D’Andrea. Much loved Nanny of Darryn Doull (Ilinca), Kathryn Doull (Tristain), Hannah Burdett, Christopher Climie (Tiawna), Donovan Climie and Dylan Climie. Dear sister of Marion Enos, sister-in-law of Barb Schalte, and aunt of Debbie Enos. Predeceased by parents Gary and Catherine Schalte and brothers Gari Schalte (Dorothy) and Joe Schalte.

A prodigious gardener, a friend to animals (especially birds), and an avid reader of mystery novels, Kathryn was the hub of our family. Her table, full of food that warmed the heart and soul, had a chair for all. In all situations, we relied on Kathryn’s honest, unfiltered feedback and fantastically strong character. Her steadfast independence, maintained throughout all, is matched only by her loving warmth that continues within us.

In keeping with Kathryn’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 519-344-3131.
