I was very sorry to hear that Pete had passed away, my sincerest condolences. I worked with Pete in the early 80's in Cost Accounting and have many fond memories both at work and the fun Christmas parties he and Jennie hosted in their home as well as at various outings at Huron Oaks. Rest in Peace Pete!

Jennie and Peter's family members:
My condolences. I was saddened to learn of Peter's passing. It is a time for contemplating all the favourable memories shared with Peter. In my case, our connection was many years in the employment at Polysar Ltd. It was not only sharing in work content but also many years playing on a softball team within the employee league structure. We parted career paths for over a decade as career considerations came into play as I left the city. Upon retirement our friendship was renewed as was our historical relationship. Peter was a most enjoyable individual with whom one could interact. He was personable, capable in all aspects of personal interaction. From my perspective, he was a forthright, honest and honourable individual. He was a person with an active humour that enhanced any interaction. I loved the environment that was shared. I looked forward to those interactions and will miss them. He was a good man!

Peter was a very gentle man, that I've had the pleasure of living next to for the past 20 years. When I needed advice in a few matters, Peter would accommodate and he loved to elaborate, he was willing to help, when was asked. He was a very devoted husband to Jenny. I will miss his gentle smile, as we would say hi to one another upon entering our homes. Peter will be very much so missed. I had the pleasure in the early years of me living next to Peter, accompanied by Jenny and my husband Ted. To enjoy a wonderful steak and corn on the cob baked potato dinner on their boat. When I said where are you going to cook it, he said right here. I was amazed and what a wonderful meal that was served.

I had the great pleasure of working with Pete at Polysar. He was an excellent accountant and an even nicer person. As plant controller he was the arbiter of costs amongst all the operating units. People would constantly complain about cost allocations to their department. Pete would patiently discuss their concerns and assure them allocations were “fair and reasonable” . They trusted that Pete was a “fair and reasonable” person and walked away satisfied. As. Said an excellent accountant and an even nicer person. R.I.P. Pete.

Also I am sorry to hear of Peters passing. Like Jerry spent many times across the bargaining table and many other situations.
Although i disagreed with him manytimes over the years, i always respected his right to his opinion and ppsition.
He was also a friend away from the workplace andweenjoyed a few brewskies together since our retirements. I also enjoyed hishistory lessons of Polymer/Polysar/Nova/Bayer/Arlanxeo.
It was apleasure to have known him both as an adversary at the table and a friend

So sorry to hear of Peter's passing. Jerry spent many hours with him on the opposite side of the Polysar negotiating table. Great guy. Everyone liked Peter. He was my step-cousin. My step father, David MacMillan, was very fond of all the McPhail family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all at this sad time.

Very sorry to hear of Peter's passing away. I knew him ever since we moved out to the lake beside his dad's place in 1955. Over the years our paths crossed many times and he always had a smile and kind word to say. At a few events we'd talk about those days back in the fifties with fondness. Pete was a a few t-years older than me and as a kid you never forget the older guys you met along the way who were nice to you. That was Peter for me. God bless.
