Rod was a strong and good man. I appreciated his broad range of experiences, interests and of course his biting sense of humour. Louis, Eddie and I loved the collection of die-cast cars. We were unable to attend the celebration of life but rest assured that there were a great number of glasses raised to Rod that day. He even carried me through a few bad golf games as Kelly would remind me to think of Rod. Called home far too soon. Perhaps God was craving some loud music and looking for a best friend. I worked with Rod for a number of years at LamSar. Don't tell anyone but he was one of my faves. We had some great conversations about work, kids, life. Rod hired me back in 1989 to work for his company. He was a smart, intellectual man that would share his knowledge to help you become a better person. My condolences go to the Stokes family. Rod was an amazing person and an incredible loss. He truly was a genuine man.
