Obituary of Maria Vittoria D'Andrea

D’ANDREA, Maria Vittoria – Maria passed away at Bluewater Health Palliative Care surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, July 2, 2023, at the age of 91. Beloved wife of the late Ernesto (2007) for 54 years. Loving mother of Theresa (Alvaro) and Tony (Diana).  Much loved nonna of Mara (Steve), Laura (Devon), Damiano (April), Dino (Lauren), Daniella (Tessa) and Derek (Chelsea) and special bisnonna to Alyssa, Ryan, Mason, Ava, Hayden, Aryonna and Sophia. Sister of Anna. Maria was an avid gardener with roses being her favourite flower. She enjoyed writing poetry and short stories that reflected growing up in Italy during war time as a young girl. She also wrote about coming to Canada and adapting to a new life with her husband. Maria enjoyed hosting family gatherings where she showcased her lasagna and ravioli right up until her passing. She was generous in all ways to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Maria was a wife, mother, nonna, bisnonna, advisor, best friend and traditional Italian Matriarch. Maria’s family would like to thank Dr. Evan Lilly and the staff at Palliative Care for their kindness and generosity in the care of our mother. There will be no public visitation. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11 a.m.  Entombment Resurrection Mausoleum.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to a charity of your choice.
