Obituary of Domenico Iafrate

IAFRATE, Domenico – Domenico Iafrate, died peacefully at Bluewater Health on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the age of 85. Beloved husband of the late Giuseppa (nee Riggi) Iafrate (Aug. 14, 2023). Loving father of Anna (Lucio) Palma, and Angelo (Anna) Iafrate. Cherished Nonno of Giulio (Brenda) Palma, David Palma, Catherine (Richard) Sutherland, Daniela (Rob) France, and Anthony (Kelly) Iafrate. Special Bisnonno of Maxwell and Lyla Sutherland, Isabella Palma, and Aveah and Brayden France. Brother of Francesca (Mario) Palleschi and brother-in-law of Vincenza Iafrate. Domenico was predeceased by his parents Vincenzo & Ersilia Iafrate, infant daughter Anna Iafrate, brother Antonio Iafrate, sisters Grazia (Vincenzo) Mammone and Maria (Vincenzo) Rotondi.

Born and raised in Broccostella, Italy, Domenico and Giuseppa and their young family, immigrated to Canada in 1974, where they would settle and raise their family.

Family and friends will be received at McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia, on Sunday, September 10, 2023 from 2-5 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Mercy Church on Monday, September 11th at 10am.
