Obituary of Dawn Christine Somes

SOMES, Dawn Christine – Dawn passed away peacefully with her family by her side at Bluewater Health on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at the age of 63. Beloved wife of the late Jim Somes. Perfect MA of Charlie (Steph), Mark (Sarah) and Krista (Chris). The best Mema to Josh, Shey, Gavin, Connor, Devon, Ethan, Asher and Hunter.

Dawn created lasting memories with her close friend, the late Johnny Walsh. Loved and missed by many close family and friends near and far.

She was a proud Health Care Aide at North Lambton Lodge for 15+ years before caring for her loving husband in his last years. Dawn became a memorable Concierge at Fairwinds Lodge where she made good friends and shared lots of memories. Dawn enjoyed making others smile and laugh and was known for pulling jokes on her favorite people.

Family would like to express gratitude and appreciation to Dr. Kim and the Palliative Care team, as well as BWH ICU for taking care of our Matriarch through her battle.

Friends will be received at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 11:30–12:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow immediately in the chapel at 1 p.m. Interment Wyoming Cemetery.
