Obituary of Joseph Serratore

SERRATORE, Joseph – Joseph died at Bluewater Health on Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the age of 89. Beloved husband of Madeline (Gambin). Dear father of Gerry Serratore (Lucie), Glen Serratore and Donna Chard (Doug). Grandfather of Janine (Richard), Michelle (Tim), Nicolette (Blasé), Alex (Petra), Brock, Ryan (Jessica), Taylor (Katie) and Mitchell (Nicole). Great-grandfather of Ella, Chloe, Freddie, Wells, Everett, Nina, Maiya, Hayden,  Evander, Emmie and Dorothy. Brother of Larry Serratore (Darlene). Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by parents Antonio and Angelina Serratore, brother Frank Serratore (Shirley) and sister Kay Williams (John).

Joe met the love of his life Madeline Gambin while attending Ryerson in Toronto and the two were wed on November 9^th, 1957. They built a life together surrounded by their family, their own kids and countless relatives. He had a very successful career working for Imperial Oil Research and retired in 1991 to focus his time and energy on being a Nonno. He spent his retirement working on his golf game, volunteering at his Church and in the Catholic School system. Joe was a 30 year member of the 4^th Degree Knights of Columbus. Joe enjoyed watching the Blue Jays, the Maple Leafs, the Sarnia Sting, vacationing in Florida every year and spoiling his grand kids and later great grand kids.  His passion, determination and love will be missed by all those that knew him.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Sunday from 2-4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict’s Church Monday, October 16, 2023 at 1 p.m.  Interment Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.
