Obituary of Maria Virginia Macedo

MACEDO, Maria Virginia – Surrounded by her loving family, Maria Macedo died at Trillium Villa Nursing Home on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the age of 86.  Beloved wife of the late Gilberto (2010).  Loving mother of David (Annabella) Macedo, Sarnia and Carlos (Jeanette) Macedo, Sarnia. Cherished grandmother of Nicholas (Maddisyn), Spencer (Kaitlyn), Vanessa and Olivia.  Dear sister of the late Christovao Lima (Maria Du Carme), Azores and Jose Lima (Tecula), Azores.  Predeceased by her parents Maria & Jose Lima.

Mom was an incredibly wonderful and loving mother, grandmother, mentor, and friend who was always there when we needed her. She was a woman who loved to be surrounded by her family or friends with good food and laughter.  Her laughter and sense of humor was contagious to all who knew her.   Her compassion and love for her family was truly unmatched.  She will be sorely missed by everyone that knew her. You’ll never be forgotten, Mom.  Our love for you will endure forever.  Until we meet again, find peace in Heaven’s hands.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Sarnia on Thursday, October 19, 2023 from 7 – 9 p.m.  Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Benedict Roman Catholic Church on  Friday, October 20^th at  1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Our Lady of Mercy Cemetery.  As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to St. Joseph’s Hospice, 475 Christina St., N.
