Obituary of Margaret Louisa Boldt
Margaret (Marnie) Louisa Boldt
On December 13, 2023, Marnie gained her well-earned angel wings at the age of 92. She died peacefully, with her family by her side, after a long and valiant battle with cancer.
Marnie was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert (Bob) Boldt (2008) and survived by her loving children Ann Boldt, David Boldt and his wife Sandy, and her adored grandchildren Spencer Boldt (his fiancé Samantha), Taylor Boldt (her fiancé Mike). Marnie is survived by her sister Barbara (Babs) and her husband Dr. Chart Reece and her nephews James (Gayle) Reece, Doug (Elaine) Reece, predeceased by Mike Reece (2020)(Sandra).
Marnie leaves behind very dear friends that became family, Joyce Turner, Bob and Jean MacIntyre, Josie and Larry Parker, and the Gorth and Rodenhuis families. Predeceased by her loved companion Peter Banks (2019). She will be especially missed by her furry family Sophie, Sky, Hersch and Leo.
Marnie was so many things to so many people, a remarkable and much-loved Mother, Mother-in-law, Grandmother, and loyal friend. Her favourite days were time spent on the beach with family, playing bridge or crib, golfing on sunny days (unless it was a 7:30 am tee off), swimming in the lake, spending time with the pups, and overall enjoying life with her friends and family.
Marnie attended SCITS, and later Western University where she attained an honour’s degree in Physical Education. She was a long-time member of the IODE Sarnia chapter and the Sarnia Golf and Curling Club.
Special thanks to the Doctors at the St. Joseph’s Palliative Care Clinic, the staff at St Joseph’s Hospice and the Rev. Dr. Sean Davidson from Trinity Anglican Church for your exceptional care of Mom and our family.
A celebration of life will be held in Sarnia, at Trinity Anglican Church on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 11 am (light refreshments will be served). In lieu of flowers, donations to the Sarnia Humane Society or St. Joseph’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the McKENZIE & BLUNDY FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 519-344-3131. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com
