Obituary of Luigi Spizzirri
SPIZZIRRI, Luigi - It is with very heavy hearts that we share news of the passing of our beloved Lou. He was surrounded with much love by his beautiful daughter, Maggie Spizzirri, and the love of his life, Sue Auty.
Lou was a cherished and proud father (to Maggie and Jodie), partner (to Sue), and friend who brought such joy and love into our lives. He will always be remembered for his kindness, his generosity, his love of life, his quirkiness, his gentleness, and his passion for music and sailing.
Lou enjoyed a long career with Regal Capital Planners/Cartier Partners as a financial planner and developed many long time relationships with his clients who also became his friends.
Lou was very passionate about sailing and music. He was a past, long time Director of Entertainment, the wonderful social butterfly that he was, and was a longtime member of the Sarnia Yacht Club where he developed and nourished a wonderful and loving family. He was an active member in the music community and became a very talented and accomplished guitar player. He was a member of the BobCatz band, entertaining folks at seniors' residences and nursing homes with much love, and he was an active member and participant in the wonderful Rotary Club of Sarnia. Lou was an avid photographer with a real keen eye for capturing the beauty of nature, and people. He loved hiking, and gardening, woodworking, and above all else, friendship and making people feel special.
We find comfort, knowing that Lou is now at peace and free from pain. He will forever and always, hold a very special place in our hearts and memories.
In the coming days, we will gather to celebrate and honour Lou’s Life. We invite you to join us in remembering him, sharing your stories of our beloved Lou and the impact he had on your lives. If you have photographs to share that would be incredible! Perhaps we could play some music together and have a good old jam to play, sing and say one final toast and cheers to our dear Lou.
We are so grateful for the love and support shown by our family and friends, and we appreciate what an impact you have all made to his life and to ours. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through this difficult time of loss and grief.
In lieu of a funeral for our beloved Lou, we will have a Celebration of Life, as he would want us to on Friday March 15th, 4-10 pm at the Sarnia Yacht Club at 1220 Fort Street, Point Edward, Ontario. Toast and remarks at 8 pm. Rather than flowers, donations can be made to the Sarnia Rotary Foundation in honour of Lou at: http://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/rotary-club-of-sarnia-charitable-foundation/ Arrangements entrusted to the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre Ltd. Messages of condolence and memories may be left at www.mckenzieblundy.com.
With much love and gratitude,
Sue and Maggie
