Obituary of Doris Louella Withenshaw
WITHENSHAW (nee Moulton), Doris – Doris passed away at Twin Lakes Terrace with her family by her side on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 100. Beloved wife of the late Rev. Byron Withenshaw. Dear mother of Douglas, Dorothy Fyfe (late Mike), Arlene Duckert (Dave) and Barbara Graham (Peter). Loving grandmother of Ashley, Stuart, Bob, Stephanie, Julianne, Katie, Jackie, Jake, Ally and Amy, and great-grandmother of 8. Predeceased by her parents, John and Maggie Moulton and by 7 siblings: Margaret Bodnar (Peter), Ruth Harris (Earl), George Moulton (Myrtle), William Harland Moulton (Shirley), Mary Lois Bull (Archie), Daisy Herbert (Bill), Gertrude Hicks (Sterling). Survived by sister-in-law Ruth Moulton (late George). Doris was a graduate of Asbury College, Wilmore, Kentucky with a B.A. in English. Doris was also a member of the Sarnia Quilters Guild and a former curator of the Historical Centre, Maple Grove Christian Retreat Centre in Thamesford for over 20 years. Her 1st passion in life was her children and their education. She was a strong woman of faith, and a dedicated worker in her church. Doris’ family would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to the staff of Twin Lakes Terrace for the care given to their mother over the past 2 years. Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 from 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at New Horizons Community Church on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:15 at the church. Interment to follow at Dresden Cemetery.
