Obituary of Olier Francois Beaudoin

Olier "Mike" Beaudoin
March 17, 1941 – October 13, 2024

Olier “Mike” Beaudoin, 83, of Sarnia, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2024, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves behind his devoted and cherished wife of 61 years, Julie, and his daughter, Johanne Deschamps (Bill). He was predeceased by his beloved son, Michel, in 2013.

Olier will be deeply missed by his grandchildren Danielle (Dar), Jayne (Mike), Sam (Matt), and Caleb (Krista), along with his great-grandchildren, Madison, McKenna, Dawson, Jaynie, William, Rosie, Sawyer, Sully, and Leonora. He is also fondly remembered by Lindsay (Brett), Jonathan (Chelsa), Rylan, Rowyn, Liam, and Peyton. In addition to his immediate family, Olier is survived by his brother, Gaston; his sister, Monique; and many nieces, nephews, including Sylvia and Denise.

Born on March 17, 1941, in Cloutier, Québec, Olier’s family relocated to Bluewater in the 1950s. They later returned to Rouyn-Noranda, Québec, where Olier met Julie, the love of his life. They married in 1963 and moved to Sarnia in 1967. Olier enjoyed a long career as a collision repairman before starting a second career as a handyman with Lambton Seniors, retiring at the remarkable age of 79.

A devout parishioner of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Olier was a proud and long-standing member of the Knights of Columbus Council #1429. He served twice as Grand Knight and achieved the rank of 4th Degree. His selflessness and commitment to serving others through volunteer work and community involvement left an enduring mark on many lives.

Bowling was one of his greatest passions and he cherished the weekly games with friends where his competitive spirit and infectious laughter brought joy to all who played with him. He enjoyed countless hours sipping his morning coffee while watching the birds at his feeders and always kept a fresh supply of peanuts for his beloved blue jays.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses in the ICU, 4th floor, and palliative care at Bluewater Health for their compassion, kindness, and excellent care.

Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N. on Friday, October 18, 2024 from 10 to 11:15 am. The memorial service will follow in the chapel at 11:30 a.m.
